“Great renovation of a historic building (old post office). The room we had was huge!! It was a two queen with a pull-out sofa like most Hyatt Places, but there was tons of usable space, a nice sized eating table, big bathroom and huge ceilings. The window sill even doubled as a reading nook for our 9-year old. Breakfast was pretty standard by Hyatt Place, but there's always plenty and it's fresh (except whatever they called bacon looked and tasted like shoe leather). Service was good. Small pool and nice gym on 3rd floor too. Location is good and a few block walk to the St. Paul Farmer's Market which was excellent on Saturday morning.”

“This is an absolutely beautiful hotel. It was definitely worth the stay. We stayed in an accessible room. I used my forearm crutches most of the time but in the chair everything was in reach for wheelers. The room was beautiful and spacious so there was plenty of room for maneuvering in the chair and on crutches. There was a major accessibility issue we ran into here though- the front doors are locked (this is good security) so you have to buzz to get access. The problem is the buzzer is really far from the handicap button. The person on the other end of the intercom at the buzzer unlocks the door - then you have to make it to the handicap button to press it before the door locks again. It wasn't possible. There was no one at the desk when we arrived so we waited in the cold for quite some time before someone made it to the intercom to answer, then we went back and forth trying to get the door open via the button. Finally we wrestled bags and wheelchair manually through the door. Not an easy thing to do and not a great first impression. On check out, they lost the matching valet slip to our car so a 10 minute wait turned into an uncomfortable 45 minute wait. The hotel is beautiful but the service really needs work. I won't stay again but I won't dissuade others if they want to see what's been done to the old post office.”
