The New York EDITION seamlessly blends the elegant design of Ian Schrager with its Madison Avenue landmark beginnings. Originally constructed in 1909 as Metropolitan Life Insurance Company’s headquarters, this clocktower, near Madison Square Park, has been ingeniously reinvented to offer luxury boutique accommodation, a tranquil hotel spa, chic new event spaces and a Michelin-starred restaurant helmed by Executive Chef Jason Atherton, all encompassed by 360-degree views of the City. The Clocktower restaurant offers updated classics and contemporary British fare by Michelin starred Chef Jason Atherton. “A lovely hotel. Rooms are small, but it’s NYC people. We had a Superior room and it’s good for 2 adults but definitely not for a family. Stick to a Courtyard or Residence Inn if you need more space!
The staff was very nice and the views are fantastic. Ask for a north or south facing room, as high up as you can go! The shower is very slippery. Watch out. Excellent location with some of the city’s best restaurants within a few blocks. We will definitely be back.”

“I'm glad I booked this with points and not paid the almost $1000/night rate as this hotel does not meet the the standards of top class hotels. The hotel is in an excellent location, but that was pretty much the only positive for us. Staff at the front desk are not particularly friendly, nor did they offer me an upgrade to a suite which I'm entitled to as a Bonvoy Titanium member (I checked and they were available). Rooms are fine at best, not up to the standard of other Edition Hotels I've stayed at around the world. One night I asked for cutlery to be sent up to the room and the staff wanted to charge me for this "service" as if I wasn't staying at a full service hotel. Thankfully they removed this charge when I protested. So, great location, but for anyone who's traveled around the world and knows what a top hotel should feel like, I wouldn't necessarily make the NY Edition your first pick. We stayed at another 5 star hotel close to Central Park for our final two nights in NY and loved every moment.”
